Following the approval of the Central African Banking Commission (COBAC), the SUNU Group and the pan-African microfinance group Advans<\/strong> are pleased to announce that SUNU Assurances Vie Cameroun has joined the shareholding of Advans Cameroun.<\/h4>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

This agreement, built on strong synergies between the microfinance and insurance sectors, marks a significant milestone for the financial institution. It presents an opportunity for Advans Cameroon<\/a>, a key player among international microfinance institutions<\/strong> to strengthen its market position and increase its impact on the communities it serves, notably through SME financing in Africa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mamie Kalonda, CEO of Advans Cameroon, stated: “The entry of SUNU Assurances Vie Cameroun is excellent news for our institution. SUNU Assurances Vie Cameroun has acquired a 24.88% stake in Advans Cameroon. Advans SA SICAR, the holding company of the Advans group, remains the majority shareholder of the Cameroonian institution.<\/p>\n

This alliance strengthens a strategic partnership initiated in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire. In December 2021, SUNU Assurances Vie C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire acquired a 10% stake in Advans C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire. This partnership enabled the launch of insurance products such as Soutra, Hospit, Agrissur and Oukal\u00e9 \u2013 funeral and hospitalization insurance products that have been embraced by over 35,700 Advans C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire clients to date.<\/p>\n

In addition, Advans’ subsidiary in the DRC, Advans Congo<\/a>, and SUNU Group are currently exploring the possibility of launching insurance products for Advans\u2019 local customer base.<\/p>\n
