With more than ten years of experience within <strong>the microfinance institution in Africa<\/strong>, he began his career as a client officer, a role equivalent to that of a loan officer. He later served as Business Coordinator of the Air+ project within Nigerian subsidiary.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"256\" data-end=\"480\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">In our recent interview, Olumide Olowola reflects on digital transformation and explains the importance of the Air+ project for teams, operations, and customer relationships, at the heart of <strong>microcredit<\/strong> initiatives in <strong>Africa. <\/strong>The Air + program, launched in the subsidiary in February 2025, has since moved into production.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #008000\">What has been your journey with Advans and how did you arrive at your current role? <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been in Learning and Development for the HR department and I&#8217;ve been in the Business Development as the head of Micro segment and individuals. And of course, I head the Alternative Distribution Channel, which is in charge of the digital products for Advans Nigeria. And of course, to improve our customers&#8217; experience and journey with Advans Nigeria to build a collective trust between Advans Nigeria and Advans Nigeria\u2019s customers.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><em>What are the specific stakes of this deployment for Advans Nigeria?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The specific stakes for Advans Nigeria, as far as the Air+ deployments are concerned, are the client engagement and trust. When we are able to balance digital solutions and human interaction, we are able to foster trust within our clients and the Advans Nigeria brand. There is the opportunity to also be competitive in the market and achieve operational efficiency where we streamline operations, save costs and of course be more efficient.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><em>What tools or solutions were implemented as part of this project?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>There are a number of tools and solutions implemented and deployed along this Air+ project. We have solutions like Amplitude, which is the new core banking system. And we have the Microsoft Teams, which is supposed to enhance collaboration within Teams. We have the BDoc, which is a business document solution that generates and manages document printing. We have the Staff app to enable our staff on the field to take applications and continue business processes and activities. We have a good number of theses solutions to enhance the efficiency of Advans&#8217;connectivity. And of course, to give a better, offer to work.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><em>What were the biggest challenges encountered during the project?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>One of the biggest challenges encountered during the implementation of the Air + project in Advans Nigeria is connectivity. Internet connectivity is more or less the lifeblood of any digital transformation. Therefore, the haphazard nature of connectivity in Nigeria as a whole was a big challenge. Nonetheless, the teams were up to the task to surmount this challenge and we were able to move according to the project and meet our necessary deadlines.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #008000\">What has this project taught you personally and professionally? <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>What I have learned personally and professionally about the project? First of all, the personal learning curve. For me, it&#8217;s the patience and perseverance that were necessary to be able to fully implement this project, I learned that personally. And on the professional note, what I learned was the strong collaboration that was required to be able to drive this project. And of course, transparency where we need to efficiently communicate and, qualitatively receive the issues that arise and the solutions.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><em>Is there a particular message you&#8217;d like to share with the team or you colleague?\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Alright, I have to share a particular message to my colleagues and the team as far as their Air+ project is concerned. I would say that to make this project truly remarkable in the short and the long term, we need to adapt. We need to be open-minded and show a positive attitude towards embracing this change.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you very much. We appreciate every minute that everyone puts in.
