Advans Tunisie, a microfinance institution committed since 2015 to promoting financial inclusion for Tunisian micro-entrepreneurs and small businesses, has announced that it has obtained a B+ institutional rating awarded by MicroRate, an independent rating agency specializing in microfinance. This distinction recognizes the overall performance of Advans Tunisie, its sound governance, and its effectiveness in risk management. It also confirms the institution’s financial strength and positive social impact, demonstrating its resilience in the face of economic challenges.

Advans Tunisie: A Microfinance Institution Recognized for Its Strength, Social Impact, and Role in Financial Inclusion

Since its creation in 2015, Advans Tunisie has established itself as one of the leading players in microfinance in Tunisia, contributing significantly to the promotion of financial inclusion for micro-entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Recently, the institution reached a new milestone in its development by obtaining a B+ institutional rating from MicroRate, an independent international agency specializing in sustainable finance and the evaluation of microfinance institutions.

The B+ rating awarded by MicroRate represents significant recognition, highlighting the quality of Advans Tunisie’s governance, its overall performance, and its effectiveness in risk management. This distinction, granted by an agency with more than 28 years of experience and over 1,700 evaluations worldwide, aims to strengthen transparency among impact-driven organizations and facilitate their access to international financial markets.

In this respect, obtaining a B+ rating is not merely a technical achievement; it reflects Advans Tunisie’s compliance with international standards in management, transparency, and responsible finance. “This B+ rating is much more than a performance indicator; it reflects the institution’s deep commitment to building a fairer, more responsible, and sustainable microfinance sector,” stated Ms. Meriem Zine, Chief Executive Officer of Advans Tunisie.

International Recognition for Strong Performance

Advans Tunisie’s mission is to facilitate access to financing for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), which are essential players in the national economic fabric. This rating illustrates the strength of its model as well as the trust placed in it by its clients, partners, and employees. Today, Advans Tunisie supports more than 37,000 active clients across Tunisia through a network of 29 branches serving micro-entrepreneurs. The institution actively contributes to job creation, the reduction of inequalities, and the strengthening of financial inclusion.
Furthermore, Advans Tunisie had previously distinguished itself by obtaining the Gold Level Client Protection Certification (CPP), awarded by the independent body MFR, accredited by Cerise+SPTF. This certification attests to compliance with international client protection principles, particularly in terms of transparency, prevention of over-indebtedness, fair treatment, and data confidentiality.

Advans Tunisie’s success thus illustrates the positive impact of microfinance in Africa and the strategic role of international microfinance institution groups in strengthening financial inclusion. By facilitating access to credit for populations often excluded from the traditional banking system, these institutions contribute to job creation, the reduction of regional inequalities, and the promotion of more equitable and sustainable economic development.

Beyond simple recognition, the B+ rating therefore represents a strategic lever for the future. It paves the way for improved access to international financing, strengthens partner confidence, and consolidates Advans Tunisie’s position as a leading microfinance institution in Tunisia.
